Our Story

 

Ms Janice Weir-Germia, Director

Director of Foodtruly Ltd (CIM NVQ, BSc(Hons), PGCE, PgCert FSQM)

Food Safety Trainer, Executive Food Inspection Consultant

 

Foodtruly Ltd was pioneered by Janice Weir-Germia who was following in the footsteps of her Grandmother, Joyce Christie, the 1st Black Woman to own a frontline Caribbean Restaurant from 1967 in the UK. Joyce Christie, originally from Jamaica, she was defined what Real Cooking was all about. Her other Grandmother Gertrude Rawlins, famed for Trinidadian Dahl Puri Roti an artform in itself, also taught her by example the art of being consistent and always working to achieve targets set and ON TIME. She was NEVER late, except for an emergency in her lifetime. Both are now gone but the legacy of their training lives on in Janice Weir-Germia today.

 

Janice Weir-Germia who spent time with her grandmother at the Restaurant in later years and whilst living in Jamaica, has always desired to be a Dietician. Janice started her studies in Dietetics and then years after moved into Computer Science. With the final move into Food Safety and Quality Management/Food Inspection she fulfilled her passions for providing quality food and NOW shares this knowledge with other food business owners who aim to provide the highest quality. Foodtruly was the start of her dreams and now offers these services with over 20 yrs of experience.
